Quick Homemade Bread Rolls

Sure. But WHY? When I can make these little beauties from scratch (and now, so can you!!) These are great for holidays, weeknights, basically - any time you need them. Can you really make rolls in 30 minutes? For me, in my oven - they take 30 minutes. However, readers have reported that an extra few minutes in the oven is needed.


Cut the dough into 16 equal squares. Dip each in the butter mixture, fold in half and add them to the loaf pan. (Dipping each individually in the butter mixture gives the rolls flavor and helps.


Step 1: Make the yeast dough and let it rise. First, dissolve the yeast in lukewarm water and set aside briefly. Mix the flour and salt in a large bowl. Then add the yeast mixture and the remaining water and stir with a wooden spoon until you have a sticky dough that comes away easily from the side of the bowl.

Let the dough rise: 10 minutes. Divide and shape the rolls: 10 minutes. Let the rolls rise: 15 minutes. Bake the rolls: 15 minutes.


In a stand mixer bowl fitted with a dough hook, combine the bread flour, sugar, milk powder, salt, and yeast. Give a quick stir. Then add the pandan juice. Start mixing at a low speed for 2-3 minutes. Continue mixing for 10 minutes until the mixture is well combined. Slowly add the butter to the mixture and continue mixing until combined.


STEP 1 Tip the flour, yeast, sugar, salt and oil into a bowl. Pour over 325ml warm water, then mix (with a spatula or your hand), until it comes together as a shaggy dough. Make sure all the flour has been incorporated. Cover and leave for 10 mins. STEP 2 Lightly oil your work surface and tip the dough onto it.


Add the oil, half the salt and 2 cups of the flour with the dough hook and let it combine on medium speed adding the flour in ¼ cup increments until the dough starts to come together and eventually starts to pull away from the bowl, then turn up the speed and let it knead for 5 minutes.


Line a baking sheet with foil for easy clean-up. If you have leftover homemade or store-bought dinner rolls, slice them in half horizontally, brush both halves with the garlic butter, then bake on the lower rack until warm, 8 to 10 minutes. Transfer to the upper rack and broil until the edges of the rolls are toasty, 1 to 2 minutes.


Dissolve the yeast: Dissolve instant yeast in lukewarm water in a cup, stir until mixed together. Prepare dough: Combine flour and salt in a large bowl. Pour yeast liquid mixture in and whisk to combine. Allow dough to rise: Cover bowl with plastic wrap and let the dough sit at room temperature for 1 hour.
